NBU is a majority owner and has managerial oversight
of Bahamas Solar Generators Co. Ltd., primary business is the design,
engineering, and installation of solar systems to industrial, commercial,
and residential customers.
4. NBU has an equity interest in WaConElect and
co-manages the firm. WaCon.Ele.Div, Ltd., primary business is the
design, engineering, and installation of industrial electrical and
electronic systems such as power generation and transmission & distribution
systems; and high, medium, and low voltage electrical systems.
NBU is a majority owner and has management oversight
of Industrial Contractors Co. Ltd. Industrial Contractors Co. ltd.
Primary business is the execution of industrial contracts such as
manpower sourcing, process and buildings modification, and project
management for industrial and commercial firms. NBU principals were
responsible for the Strategic Management Planning for GBPC from 2002
through 2011. The firm principles were also responsible for directing
the responsibilities of GBPC such as:
Negotiating a technical proposal for a potential
purchase of 4 diesel engine generators from a Korean heavy equipment
manufacturing company called STX Heavy Industries. The evaluation
included discussing and evaluating: 1) design of the proposed power
plant, 2) plant mechanical systems, 3) plant electrical systems, 4)
control system, 5) tools and spares, and 5) service contracts. This
project had an estimated price of US$18,274,000.00.
Developing capital and O&M budgets including major
overall and upgrades for boilers, turbines, generators, combustion
turbines, and diesel engine generators. The O&M budget included annual
periodic maintenance of the plant equipment that required annual periodic
maintenance, and annual inspections of the generator and other capital
assets.
Developing capital and O&M budgets for design,
development, construction, and operations for 69 kilovolts (kv) transmission
lines, 12.5 kv distribution lines, and electrical substations and
switch yards. Directed and managed electrical load studies and protection
and feeder tripping schemes for industrial customers, commercial customers,
and residential customers. Directed and coordinated metering audits,
and revenue protection programs. Also directed and coordinated hotline
work and hotline work procedures.
