Northern Bahamas Utilities (NBU) Holdings Company
Limited was incorporated in 2006 under the Commonwealth of the Bahamas
Companies Act, 1992, as a holding company for its shareholders
The principal shareholders are four former senior managers and engineers
of Grand Bahama Power Company Limited (GBPC). Future shareholders are
expected to be retired employees of GBPC and Bahamas Electricity Corporation
(BEC) and other citizens and residents of the Bahamas Business of NBU
NBU was initially formed to pursue the purchase of Mirant International
Investments Inc. (MIII) interest in GBPC. In addition, the company intends
to pursue other purchases of other companies (mainly utilities) in the
region (firstly focusing in the Bahamas). The Company plans to operate
the assets purchased profitably, and add value to the communities in
which the assets exist.
Northern Bahamas Utilities (NBU) offers innovative
and comprehensive engineering and technical business solutions to an
increasingly discerning clientele. NBU has further positioned itself
to develop symbiotic partnerships. NBU with its deep resource pool is
uniquely positioned to provide the resources necessary to facilitate
clientele growth particularly during lean times. In this regard, NBU
is able to bring cost effective global solutions to the local market.
Although there are other businesses offering similar services, NBU has
a unique approach in that it seeks to synergize all areas of an organization
to ensure that the entire organization performs optimally. The management
and services providers of NBU consist of expert co-owners who combined
represents more than one hundred years of technical experience. Additionally,
NBU has access to a broad network of business experts and technical
services locally, throughout the Caribbean, North America, and Europe.
